URGENT: Phone and Write!

URGENT: Pro-Equality Catholic Voices Needed in Maryland

Make Pro-Equality Catholic Phone Calls to State Delegates
And Write Pro-Equality Catholic Letters to the Editor for Our Newspapers

Dear Maryland Catholics for Equality Supporter:

We need you voice now, as a Catholic in support of Civil Marriage Equality. The House's Judiciary Committee may vote on HB175 - Religious Freedom and Civil Marriage Protection Act as early as tonight.

We made history last week when the State Senate passed Civil Marriage Equality, but the progress cannot stop at the Senate. As a result of our victory in the Senate, anti-equality voices are pushing even harder in the House of Delegates to prevent a victory there, leading them include our church's hierarchy.

We need your help to show our Delegates that the majority of Catholic citizens in Maryland support civil marriage equality!

Call Your Delegates -- as a Pro-Equality Catholic Voice!

Can you make a phone call right now to your State Delegates? We need to ensure they hear about why marriage equality is important to the majority of Catholics in Maryland, including you and your family!

CALL: 1-800-492-7122
Remember to state that you are calling as a Catholic citizen.
Remember to leave your street address to make sure they know you are a constituent.

If you don't know who your delegates are, click here to find which Delegate or Delegates represent you. Below the map of Maryland enter your street address and City/Town where indicated then click "Find Elected Officials" to see which Delegates represent you. You may be represented by up to three Delegates and it is very important that you contact all three.

Write a Letter to the Editor -- as a Pro-Equality Catholic Voice!

When articles like the one in today's Washington Post are run in major newspapers, they can have a chilling effect on politicians. It's imperative that we counter that influence with strong messages in those newspapers from Catholic citizens. Write a brief letter as a Catholic to the Editor, of one of the major newspapers below, to let them know the bishops do not speak for you. Let them know why civil marriage equality is important to you as a Catholic, and to your family.

To send letters to the Editor of the Baltimore Sun: Email - talkback@baltimoresun.com
To send letters to the Editor of the Washington Post: Email - letters@washpost.com

Thank you for doing your part as a pro-equality Catholic - we need you.
