Pro-Equality Catholic Voices Needed in Annapolis!

Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley

Pro-Equality Catholic Voices Needed in Annapolis!

Senate Hearing on Marriage Equality will be Held This Tuesday, January 31t

ANNAPOLIS - This week, Governor O'Malley became the next pro-equality Catholic governor this year to introduce legislation to pass marriage equality. As pro-equality Catholics, it's imperative that we support him by doing all we can to educate state legislators that Maryland Catholics support equality!

This Tuesday, January 31st, the Maryland State Senate is holding a hearing in Annapolis on The Civil Marriage Protection Act of 2012 and we need you in Annapolis to counter the voices who oppose social and legal justice for all our families, including lesbian and gay ones. Conservative anti-equality Catholic groups like the National Organization for Marriage are sure to be there, trying to scare legislators into voting against loving and committed families. Again, it is crucial that our voices, as Catholics who support equality, are there to counter any impact they might have. This is one of the most important times as a Catholic to come to Annapolis and show your support for marriage equality.

Can you join Maryland Catholics for Equality and Marylanders for Marriage Equality and attend the Senate hearing on January 31st? Bring your friends, family, neighbors and co-workers. Join us all day or for one of our 2 shifts, 9am-2pm, 1-6pm. RSVP and please indicate the shifts you plan to attend.

If you have questions or want to learn more about how you can win marriage in Maryland this session, please email me at manley@marylandcatholicsforequality.org.

Thank you.
